It is a semi dry chicken recipe which can be served with bread,roti ,naans or bhakri.There are two
special ingredients here,which adds to the flavour of chicken .Poppy seeds paste which is used in
Hyderabadi cuisines and tamarind which is used to add sour taste to the dish
1.Chicken (With bones or boneless)
2.Onions 2(roughly chopped)
3.Ginger(1 inch cut into pieces)
4.All spice powder(Cinamon stick (1),CLove (2 to 3),BLack cardamom(1),Star anise( 1))
8.Coconut dessicated dry (1 tbsp)
9.Poppy seeds (2 tbsp)
10.Tamarind soaked in water
11.Garlic (4 to 5 cloves)
12.Mustard seeds(1/2 tbsp)
13.Curry leaves(2 to 3)
14.Green chillies(2 to 3)
15.Turmeric powder (1 tbsp)
16.Cumin powder(1/2 tbsp)
17.Coriander powder(1/2 tbsp)
18.Chilly powder (1/2 tbsp)
1.Marinate the chicken with turmeric and salt for 20 minutes.
2.Dry roast all the masala including onion,ginger and garlic till it gives out a nice aroma.
3.Grind it to a smooth paste
4.Add a tbsp of oill .add mustard seeds.Whent it starts to crackle add curry leaves
5.Add chopped onions.
6.Add the ground masala paste.
7.Add the chicken pieces and cook until it is tender .
8.Add tamarind soaked in water without the seeds and cook till the masala is dry.
8.add some green chillies broken with hands .Serve with bhakri
